Section NE7A was formed after the Northeast Region's section realignments in the Summer of 2008. Sections NE2B (Northern NJ/Northeastern PA/Long Island, NY/Europe) and NE2C (New York City metro area) were split up and three lodges from each came together to form the new NE7A. The founding lodges include Aquehongian 112 (NE2C), Lenapehoking IX (NE2B), Man-A-Hattin 82 (NE2C), Sakuwit 2 (NE2B), Shu-Shu-Gah 24 (NE2C), and Woapalanne 43 (NE2B).
